The Use of the Feng Shui Salt Water Cure in Your Home

What is the feng shui salt water cure, how and when this popular cure is used for good feng shui

The salt water cure is a powerful and popular feng shui cure that helps clear the negative energy in one’s home. Its specific power is in the combination of the strong purifying effects of salt and water combined with the chemical reaction between metal and salt (the Metal feng shui element is represented in the use of Chinese coins.)  Compared to many other ways to clear negative energy, the salt water cure has a very specific role and purpose in feng shui because it is used as a specific annual feng shui cure.

What is the Feng Shui Salt Water Cure

The role of the salt water cure is to neutralize a specific quality of energy brought by specific negative stars, or feng shui energies. To achieve this effect, the salt water cure is usually applied in combination with several Metal element feng shui cures because the energies of these challenging stars are considerably weakened or even destroyed by the power of the Metal element.

This happens because these negative feng shui stars  — star 2, star 3, and star 5 — belong to a feng shui element that is weaker than the Metal element (star 2 and star 5 are of the Earth element, while star 3 is of the Wood element.) Most popular feng shui Metal element cures used in addition to the salt water cure are the six hollow metal rod wind chime, a metal Wu Lou (Chinese gourd), as well as bells and bowls made of metal. The salt water cure itself has a strong Metal element in it as represented by six Chinese coins.

The use of number six in the six hollow rods wind chime, as well as the six Chinese coins in the salt water cure, strengthens the power of the Metal element because in feng shui, six is the number with the strongest Metal element essence. Now that you know a bit about the purpose of the salt water cure, when and how do you use it? Where do you obtain it from, and can you actually make it yourself?

When To Use the Salt Water Cure

The salt water cure is used annually in the bagua areas of your home that are hosting the inauspicious stars 2, 3, or 5. The use of the salt water cure is especially emphasized when the location of these negative stars are in your bedroom, your living room, your kitchen or at your front door. If these negative feng shui annual stars are located in areas of your home that are less used and feel more closed in, such as the closets or the bathroom, the garage, or just an empty, unused space, then the feng shui salt water cure might not be necessary.

How To Use the Salt Water Cure

The salt water cure is simply positioned in a chosen place within the specific bagua area that is affected by the negative annual stars. It is usually placed away from any active areas, so as to avoid disturbing it. You can place it on the floor behind the sofa, for example. If you have pets, then you should definitely position it on a higher level where this feng shui cure will not be disturbed.

The look of your salt water cure will change in time, all depending on the amount of negative energy in your space. In some homes, this feng shui cure has to be replaced every couple of months, and in other homes only once, at its traditional placement on the Lunar New Year. How do you know when it is time to replace it? Keep an eye on your salt water cure, and when you see that its container has a thick build-up of salt crystals going over its edges, then you know it is time to replace it.

How To Discard Your Salt Water Cure

The role of the salt water feng shui cure is to clear negative energy by absorbing it, so it is wise to be mindful of its proper disposal. As compared to other annual feng shui cures, you will not cleanse and reuse the salt water cure, but rather properly discard the whole cure. Now that you know the basics of the feng shui salt water cure, would you like to know how to make it yourself? It is easy.
